Keila Takes Sam to the Beach

 

I live in Florida with my two best friends, Sam and Jodi. I try to take Sam out to the beach at least 2 to 3 times a week and he seems to like it . I let Sam drive.

 

 Most of the time I sleep in the guest room in my own big bed. When I hear Sam get up I know it's time to go!

Sam puts this harness on me but sometimes he takes too long, so I follow him around with the leash in my mouth until he takes me to the car.

Sam lets me wait in the car with the radio and a/c on while he gets our stuff. He brings us lots of water and some crackers shaped like little bones. Sometimes he brings his fishing pole but he all ways brings his old straw hat and a sack he wears on his back. Sam lets me listen to NPR! Klick and Clack are my favorites!!

Some beaches are BAD and won't let Sam on them.

I try to find one that lets Sam on.... even with his old straw hat he seems to like.

As soon as we get to the beach I try to figure out what to do first.

 

Then I let Sam wait on shore while I check out the water. Sam sez I swim like a fish . I use my big tail to steer. I love the water!!

Sometimes Sam holds up a stick and I jump for it. I don't know why, but it makes Sam smile so I do it.

Sometimes little crabs get lost and wash up on shore.

It can take some time but I always put them back in the water.

 

Sometimes Carlos comes to the beach and throws a cast net.

 

He lets me take the fish back out to the deep water and let them go.

 

Its a lot of work but someone has to do it.

Sometimes Carlos does that jumping thing just like Sam.

Sam always lets me help with the net.

 

Sometimes me and Sam fish into the night.

Before we can go home I get a bath. Sam sez he doesn't need one, just me.

Sometimes Sam forgets to give me a treat when we get home so... I hold his TV Changer 'til he gives me one then I give him back his remote.

No Treat No Remote!

 

After dinner I get a treat when I go to my "gum ball" machine. It gives you treats if you push down the handle. It totally impresses Sam, but it's  not hard for a Lab like me.

Maybe we'll go again tomorrow?
