For anyone who may see this
book and not know the story of how Lady came into our lives,
here is the short version:
For years our family had a
shelter for abused animals. One of the dogs that we rescued was a
four- week-old Labrador puppy. When you look at the pictures of this
dog, you will notice that she doesn't have the usual long and
beautiful Lab tail. This is because the people that we rescued her
from had cut off her tail with the intention of using her for
dog fighting! When we brought this tiny puppy home, Sarah, our
daughter, immediately started carrying her around in a small fanny
pack. The dog and she were inseparable. Sarah named the dog Lady. Lady
is now 14 years old and Sarah is off to college. We made this book for
her. It is composed of pictures of Lady throughout time and history.
Each picture (even the cartoons) is an actual image of Lady that was
altered and put into the original picture. Each individual picture
took over three hours to make.
